One of the requirements this year is to send the Drum Major for 2019-2020 to the Indiana State University Drum Major Camp in Terre Haute. I would love for you to attend the week long session. If this is not possible at least one of the weekend mini-camps.

Flag Corps Camp

A great opportunity for the color guard would be to attend a Smith Walbridge Clinic. Founded in 1949, Smith Walbridge was the first camp in the United States to specialize in instruction related to various marching band activities.

The SW Flag & Rifle Clinic for colorguard offers four levels of instruction; Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Super Advanced.  The emphasis is to develop a strong fundamental base of performance techniques, then teach students how to create their own routines and build upon what they learned after they leave the clinic.  They are also taught how to transfer what they learned to others in their groups back home.  In addition to flag and rifle skills, students learn modern body movements and marching basics.  In the afternoon students have many electives from which to choose, including sabre, dance, leadership, style shows and additional routines.  Each school receives a DVD and recordings of all routines, and an instructional manual.  The SW instructors are active with many famous colorguards and drum corps from across the nation.  This clinic is appropriate for large groups as well as individuals at the high school and college levels.
